Hi! I'm Melissa Mulligan, and I look forward to meeting you!

When I was at Holy Cross, I often felt like I didn't fit in to any musical mold. It was the 90's. You were either going to study classical (with some jazz thrown in), musical theatre, or become a teacher. I wanted to make my own music but didn't know how, and I didn't really have the resources available to find a mentor who would encourage me to break some musical rules and do what I most wanted to do.

I'll tell you more of my story when we meet - but it involves a long and confusing path of jobs and careers that had nothing to do with music while also trying to force myself to really commit to what I love the most.

Eventually I figured it out for myself, and now I dedicate a large portion of my time to helping other music makers live their best lives while achieving excellence in professional music.

For the last 15 years, I've worked with thousands of young adults and their families as their vocal coach and/or music career consultant.

In the recording industry I often work with platinum-selling and world-touring artists such as Jack from AJR, Coley O'Toole (Green Day / We The Kings), Reed Shannon (Emmy-Award winning Arcane), Chiara Aurelia (Cruel Summer, Hysteria), Chelsea Cutler, Jeremy Zucker, Jordan Pundik from New Found Glory, Caitlin Kalafus (Cyndi Lauper/Cavetown/Tessa Violet), Ricky Manning, Hailey Knox, and 2024 BMI John Lennon Songwriter Award Winner Aria Lisslo.  

Some of my students study at elite conservatories, some attend college but major in something other than music (like I did), others take gap years. All of these options can work for creating a full-time living as recording artists, songwriters, performers and producers. 

My goal is the same for every event I host: I will make sure you feel great about your talents and clear about what path is right for YOU.
